There are 14 different classes available for dB Drag. From systems that have 1 12" all the way up to 12 15"s and more. A few of the main aspects making up the different classes are: the number of subs, amps and batteries involved. Then whether it is in a "wall" or not. below is a  "class matrix" so you can see the different classes and what is/is not allowed in each of them. Hope this helps! See you at the show.

Class Matrix Notes

Street Stock Division

  • No Competition-Grade Components
  • No Veterans or Pros
  • No Pandas, CRXs, Marbellas, Yugos, or derivatives
  • Street Stock A – 1000 Watts Max
  • Street Stock B – 2000 Watts Max

Street Division

  • Street A – 1-12 or 2-10’s or 3-8’s / Maximum of 1 amp – 2 Conductors total between amp rack and sub enclosure
  • Street B – 1-15 or 2-12’s or 3-10’s or 4-8’s / Maximum of 1 amp (or 2 monoblock amplifiers) – 2 Conductors total between amp rack and sub enclosure
  • Street C – 1-18 or 2-15’s or 4-12’s or 6-10’s or 8-8's / Maximum of 2 amps (or 4 monoblock amplifiers) – 4 Conductors total between amp rack and sub enclosure

Street Max Class

  • Maximum of 2 amps (or 4 monoblock amplifiers) – 4 Conductors total between amp rack and sub enclosure

Super Street NW Class

  • Maximum of 4 amps (or 8 monoblock amplifiers) - 8 Conductors total between amp rack and sub enclosure. Maximum 4 conductors per sub

Extreme OS

  • No "Bandpass" interiors
  • Walls must be "Flat", "V-Shaped", or "W-Shaped"
  • A minimum seperation of 12-inches is required between the center console and the wall
  • Subs must be symmetically installed along the centerline of the wall

Glossary of Terms

  • Alts – Number of alternators permitted
  • Amateur - Anyone who is not a "Pro" (see below)
  • Amps – Maximum number of physical amplifiers permitted
  • Battery Box – Battery box permitted
  • Battery Qty – Maximum number of batteries permitted
  • Battery Size – Physical size limits for each battery in cubic inches
  • Caps – Number of Farads permitted
  • Maximum Conductors – Maximum number of electrical conductors between the amplifier(s) and the sub enclosure. A normal speaker wire is composed of two conductors; 1 for positive and 1 for negative.
  • Normal Use – Normal use restriction applies
  • Podium – Podium use permitted
  • Power - When amplifier power limits are specified, the dBDRA will use the maximum published RMS rating for the amplifier. The dBDRA reserves the right to verify the accuracy of any published rating.
  • Pro - Anyone who is employed in the auto sound industry. Anyone who is sponsored by someone in the auto sound industry. Anyone who is related to someone in the auto sound industry. Anyone who has competed as a pro in the past.
  • Run – Vehicle may be running during competition
  • Standard Battery – 12-volt, 6-cell (connected in series), lead-acid or gel-type battery.
  • Vehicle Mods – Structural vehicle modifications permitted
  • Veteran - A contestant who has finished any preceding season with a "Top 3" Certified Score ranking or who has participated in any previous World Finals.
  • Volts – Battery voltage (value in parenthesis indicates maximum voltage in the lanes)
  • Walls – Walls are permitted
  • Woofers – Number of woofers allowed
